1. Where is Selahatin produced?
Selahatin is made in Switzerland. The factory that produces Selahatin is ISO 22716- and ISO 13485-certified and Selahatin adheres to EU regulation 1223/2009 on Cosmetics.
ISO 22716:2007 gives guidelines for production, control, storage and shipment of cosmetic products. It is also referred to as Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), which are practices required to in order to conform to guidelines set by agencies that control authorisation and licensing for manufacture and sale of food, drug products and active pharmaceutical products.
ISO 13485:2016 specifies requirements for a quality management system where an organisation needs to demonstrate its ability to provide medical devices and related services that consistently meet customer and applicable regulatory requirements.
EU Regulation 1223/2009 on Cosmetics sets binding requirements for cosmetic products that have been made available on the market within the European Union.
2. Does Selahatin Whitening Toothpaste contain fluoride?
Yes. Selahatin contains 1450 ppm sodium fluoride. Fluoride is a mineral known to be safe and effective at preventing tooth decay. There is no scientifically valid evidence to show that fluoride, in the right amount, has a negative impact on your health. The overwhelming scientific consensus is that fluoride prevents the occurrence of cavities in teeth.
The use of fluoride is recommended by The World Health Organisation as well as The Swedish Dental Association, among many others.
3. Is Selahatin Whitening Toothpaste a safe product?
Yes. Selahatin toothpaste is produced in a safe environment and the factory that produces it have all the necessary credentials for producing oral care products (see question 2). It is also dermatologically tested and there’s no indication that our products causes allergic reactions. Additionally, Selahatin toothpaste has undergone microbiological- and stability testing. 4. Does Selahatin Whitening Toothpaste make teeth whiter?
Yes. Selahatin contains four different whitening agents which remove stains and make teeth whiter. Selahatin also contains hydroxyapatite, a naturally occurring mineral that helps to repair the tooth enamel. By evening out the surface of the enamel it gives teeth a whitening effect.
5. What is “Leontopodium Alpinum Extract” and what is its benefits?
Selahatin Whitening Toothpaste contains Leontopodium Alpinum Extract, an organic, high-purity extract from the Swiss alpine flower Edelweiss. It has anti-inflammatory properties which helps regenerate and revitalise irritated gums.
6. What is “Betaine” and what is its benefits?
Selahatin Whitening Toothpaste contains betaine, an amino-acid that has antioxidant properties and it is used to relieve dry mouth.
7. Is Selahatin tested on animals?
No. Selahatin has not been tested on animals.
8. How long will a tube last?
If you brush your teeth twice a day, a tube will last one person for about four weeks. If you follow the dentist-recommended dosage (the size of a pea) you can most likely double the amount of days to 60.
9. What shelf life does Selahatin have?
A Selahatin toothpaste lasts 3 years unopened and 12 months once opened.
10. I have just received my Selahatin toothpaste and the tube has a couple of dents. Why is that?
We have chosen to work with aluminum tubes for two reasons. 1) Aluminum is a more living material than plastic and the tube whilst using Selahation toothpaste the tube will develop a patina, giving it character and beauty. 2) The carbon footprint is smaller. Aluminum has a longer lifespan than plastic tubes and can be recycled up to 9 times.
